Renewing the fire of the HOLY SPIRIT in the Catholic Church
"I am convinced that this movement is a very important component of the entire renewal of the Church."
Pope St. John Paul, speaking to international leaders of the Renewal

I was ordained a priest in 1975. My first assignment was Marion St. Mary where I attended a Life In The Spirit Seminar in 1977. Parishioners invited me at experience the Charismatic Renewal.
I was impressed by their faith and enthusiasm. Sharing our faith and joy in the Lord is evangelization at its best.
As a priest I am always looking for ways to deepen the faith of my parishioners. Over the years I have been involved with Teens Encounter Christ, Cursillo, Christ Renews His Parish, Courage and Encourage. I have always encouraged a deep and varied devotional life that included Rosary, Divine Mercy, Eucharistic Adoration and Scripture Studies. All of those are typical for Charismatic Catholics. I have observed that those who are Spirit-filled always have a hunger for more and are the ones who get involved with some of the current programs now popular in the Church.
As Catholics we are encouraged to have a personal relationship with Jesus that also includes a relationship with the Father and a relationship with the Holy Spirit. A truly trinitarian faith life is a full faith life. Jesus promised us the gift of the Holy Spirit to lead us into that intimate communion. The Charismatic Renewal has played an important part in my spiritual development.

Pope Francis- ‘I expect this movement: to do these three things – baptism in the Holy Spirit, unity in the body of Christ and service to the poor – are the forms of witness that, by virtue of baptism, all of us are called to give for the evangelization of the world. An evangelization that is not proselytism but first and foremost witness: a witness of love. “See how they love one another”. That was what impressed those who encountered the first Christians. “See how they love one another”.
